AZTEC ELECTRIC CENTRAL HEATING BOILER.  For a truly compact solution to heating needs when space is at a premium, the Aztec electric range is the answer. No need for flues or fuel supply tanks and quiet in operation, these units are ideal for uses such as home extensions, flats and apartments. These are very popular in Scotland.

The ingenious Activair ASHP.  Air Source Heat Pumps are becoming an increasingly popular choice for home heating, especially in areas with less severe winters. But what makes it such a viable heating alternative, and how does it work? Quite simply, Activair has a motor powered by electricity that supplies more energy than it consumes when it extracts heat from the surrounding air. For every unit of energy purchased as electricity, several units of heat are delivered, making it up to four times more effective.

UNDERFLOOR HEATING.  With an underfloor heating system, the floor itself becomes the heat emitter and the heating of the room is from the entire floor up which is much more efficient that the classic wall mounted radiator.  Because most of the heat from wall  mounted radiators rise, the room is heated by the warm air being  pushed down by more warm air.  This is inefficient and slow compared to underfloor heating systems.

GAS CONDENSING COMBI BOILERS. Combination boilers provide both instant hot water and central heating, but not at the same time - they are "hot water priority", which means that when hot water is being run there is no heat output to the radiators. This also means they have low water rate, so they can only feed one tap at a time.

If there isn't a great demand for hot water in your home then combination boilers are ideal, particularly as they do not take up a lot of space. They are also very easy to install and cheap to run.

PRESSURISED HOT WATER CYLINDERS. Hot water at cold mains pressure with a very high thermal store with very low running costs.
